                                                    Brian Whittaker is the Acting Executive Director of 18F, an organization of 100 federal employees that collaborate with other agencies to fix technical problems, build products, and improve service delivered to the public with technology. As the Acting Executive Director, he is responsible for overseeing the operations and strategy of the organization, which includes hiring new employees, communicating the value of 18F, finding new agencies to work with, and ensuring success with our existing partner agencies. 
Prior to his role with 18F, Brian was the Deputy Executive Director of the GSA Centers of Excellence, a consulting program created by the White House Office of American Innovation in November 2017 to modernize agencies across the federal government in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Adoption, Contact Centers, Customer Experience, Data Analytics, and IT Infrastructure. He has been with GSA since 2016 and has worked on a variety of projects with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Housing and Urban Development, Office of Personnel Management and Department of Justice.
Prior to joining public service, Brian spent 9 years in the private sector. As a consultant at Grant Thornton, he led data analytics, supplier management, and organization development initiatives at GSA. Prior to consulting, he worked at Lockheed Martin as a subcontract manager in support of TSA and led deployments of full body scanners at airports across the U.S.
Mr. Whittaker possesses an MBA from University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. He is married to Meghan Whittaker and they have a dog named Omega. In his spare time, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, listening to new music, exercising, and watching mixed martial arts.
