Kevin Bierschenk is currently continuing his leadership at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in the Enterprise Digitalization and Case Management Office as the Project Director for Digitalization. Kevin oversees the digitalization projects currently in flight at the IRS that will modernize systems, simplify business processes, reduce Taxpayer and employee burden, and transform the agency through digitalization capabilities for the taxpayer and workforce.

Prior to this role, Kevin has served as the Director for the Investment and Portfolio Control and Oversight organization in Strategy and Planning for the IRS Information Technology organization for the last 2+ years.

In this role, he was responsible for the Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) process, managing IT Governance activities, and leading the execution and monitoring of the IRS Integrated Modernization Business Plan which serves as a six-year road map for achieving necessary modernization of IRS systems and taxpayer services. Over the last two years Kevin has led the strategic planning and execution of over 60 modernization capabilities delivered in support of the taxpayer. Prior to his present position, he led several high-priority assignments within the IT organization around Enterprise Program Controls; DevOps; and the Affordable Care Act Program Management Office.

Prior to his Federal career, Kevin spent 15 years in the private sector as a management consultant and program manager in support of transformational engagements for large, complex organizations within the federal government, telecommunications, and human services industries. Kevin has a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University and holds an MBA from the Heller School at Brandeis University. He is a graduate of the Fall 2017 Candidate Development Program. Kevin resides in Alexandria, VA with his wife and 3 kids. Kevin brings a wealth of experience in leadership, strategic analysis, team building, and delivery excellence.
