Description

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is a unified cybersecurity standard designed to reduce the theft of Controlled Unclassified Information from companies in the defense industrial base. But the impact doesn’t stop there. Major contracting shops such as the General Services Administration are adopting the maturity model for contracts outside of DoD.

With 171 controls spread across 17 categories, the CMMC is the most stringent cybersecurity standards ever developed.

This panel will discuss the path to enhancing cybersecurity across government supply chains as a critical step to protecting the government’s sensitive information.

This event is on the record.

There is 1 CEUs available for this program.

Learning objectives:

  • Detail NIST’s SP 800-171 requirements for protection of unclassified information technology.
  • Share leadership lessons from DoD on contracting tools that address supply chain risk management and cybersecurity.
  • Review DOD’s new five-tiered system of controls that will need to be assessed when contracting with the Department.
  • Delineate timetables and deadlines for the shift to CMMC’s verifiable cybersecurity among contractors.
